INMEGEN takes part in XXVII International Medicine Congress 2011, Vanguard Medicine

Last April 27 at Monterrey City, National Institute of Genomic Medicine (INMEGEN) took part in XXVII  International Medicine Congress 2011 Vanguard Medicine organized by Tecnologico de Monterrey School Medicine.

Congress lasted three days and count with the attendance of mexican and  foreign remarkable eminence, who exposed different relevant issues to vanguard medicine: since neurology and ginecology, to health systemsand assistant services.

At first day, congress registered around 900 participants, third part of foreigneres. Attendant international lecturer, national and local liders, and students.

Además de conferencias, el congreso ofreció diversos talleres como apoyo profesional y de docencia, entre ellos: “Oportunidades de trabajo para médicos en el futuro”, “Habilidades quirúrgicas”, así como visitas al nuevo Centro Médico Zambrano-Hellon, y visitas al Servicio Médico Forense de Monterrey. También se aplicaron 100 exámenes de práctica de la prueba Step 1 y 50 de la prueba Step 2 CK, ambas de la United States Medical Licensing Examination.

Besides conference, congress offered diverse workshops as proffesional and teaching support, as “Job opportunitties for future doctors”; “Surgical skills” as well as visits to the new Medical Center Zambrano-Hellon, and Medical Examiner of Monterrey. Also were applied 100 tests of  Step 1 and 50 for Step 2 CK test, both from the United States Medical Licensing Examination.

Por parte del INMEGEN—cuyas conferencias fueron las únicas sobre medicina genómica—participaron la Dra. Alessandra Carnevale con la conferencia Las ciencias genómicas aplicadas a la medicina, y la Dra. María Elizabeth Tejero con Nutrigenómica y Nutrigenética. Asimismo, la editorial del Congreso publicó, en una revista especial, los perfiles y trayectorias de las investigadoras representantes del INMEGEN.

For INMEGEN, which lectures where the only ones on genomic medicine, Dr. Alessandra Carnevale participated in the conference genomic sciences applied to medicine, and Dr. Maria Elizabeth Tejero to Nutrigenomics and Nutrigenetics. Furthermore, the publisher of Congress published in a special magazine, profiles and trajectories of representatives of INMEGEN researchers.
