Integrative Genomics Software Tools of the Broad´s Cancer Program

Mexico City-On Friday July 23, 2010. As part of Workshop GenePattern IGV, was held in the Aula Magna of the National Institute of Genomic Medicine (INMEGEN), the Seminar “Integrative Genomics Software Tools of the Broad´s Cancer Program”, Coordinated by PhD. Claudia Rangel Escareño, Research Associate INMEGEN, and given by MsC. Ted Liedfield, Chief Software Architect from Cancer Genomics Program, Broad Institute.

MsC. Ted Liedfield talked about technologic plattforms develop and set up by Cancer Genomic Program whose aim is facility the access to databases highlighting some points that are include in this proyect: studies of genome-wide loss and amplification; targeted resequencing to identify mutant genes and discovery of cancer-specific biomarkers.

On the other hand, he mentioned the Integrative Genomics Viewer (IGV) an interactive visualization tool for analysis genome databases, which among other things incorporate multiple databases view.

Finally, MsC Ted Liedfield highlighted that this plattforms will allow researches access, process and analysis the genome databases in a quick and efficient way.
