INMEGEN and NESTLÉ in Second Internacional Nutrigenomics Symposium

National Institute of Genomic Medicine (INMEGEN), Mexico’s leader institution in genomic medicine, and Nestlé, a global leader in Nutrition, Health and Welfare, have one of the most outstanding academic programs in genomics, the Second International Symposium in Nutrigenomics “Diet, genomics and Health “to be held on September 29 and 30 in Mexico City.

During this symposium, some of the most recognized experts in the world approach issues related to chronic conditions such as obesity, diabetes mellitus type 2 , hypertension and cancer, diseases that have a strong genetic component. In the event it is discussed the key role played by diet in the development of these diseases, which in Mexico and the world affect a significant number of people and growing, with high social and financial impact. It also highlights the importance of research in Nutrigenomics and how this discipline offers new opportunities to identify interactions between diet and human genetic variability, which can result in food-based strategies to prevent or help control conditions complex health.
